About me
I’m an artist from south east London, working across painting, print and sculpture.
Stories and narrative are at the heart of my practice, and this comes from a lifelong love of legends, myths and fairytales. My current body of work explores feminine power, potential threat, and mysticism. These are expressed through the rituals of witches past and present, and of mythical creatures like Sirens, living in half-worlds that bridge the chasm between our own reality, and the otherness we cannot see.
The Celtic story of Selkies, who can interchange between human and sea form, has an enduring fascination for me. Visits to the Norfolk coast to see seals singing as they loll on the beach makes it easy to understand how they’ve attracted so much mythology over time.
I’m a printmaker, and a longstanding member of the Quaggy Printmakers exhibiting group. Working at the Ceramic Studio Co-op in Deptford, I also make ceramic sculptures of selkies, seals and eels.
I’ve studied at Lewisham College of Art and Design, Morley College, Lewisham Art House, and more recently in Studio Practice with Martha Lamont, founder of The Healthy Artist.
