About

As a botanical artist, my garden is a year-round source of foliage and flowers, from winter’s evergreen ivy to summer’s cosmos, roses and clematis.
I always draw plants from life, usually starting with a pencil sketch which either becomes a watercolour painting, a black ink drawing, or a mix of the two.

Fairies started appearing in my work after a friend described white musk mallow in his garden as a ‘fairy citadel’, which got me thinking. I’m especially fond of my little snapdragons.

Thanks for looking at my site. I’d love to hear from you, so message me here, or on Instagram @janekempart. Or you can visit my shop on Etsy.
